BFI Canada
BFI Canada are one of the largest non-hazardous solid waste management companies in North America. Their two brands serve the needs of 1.8 million commercial, industrial and residential customers. In Canada, they acquired their original assets in 2000 and today, BFI Canada serves the needs of the countrys most populous regions across five provinces. In the US, their business was acquired in 2005 and today, the IESI brand is a leader in two large regions: the US south and the US northeast comprising 10 states.
BFI Canada and IESI exist under the corporate name IESI-BFC Ltd. with listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BIN. As one of the largest environmental services companies in North America, they collect millions of tonnes of waste including recyclable materials each year. Each year, BFI Canada and IESI recycle the equivalent of nearly five million trees. They offer paper, paper fiber, and cardboard recycling services to customers through their 17 recycling operations.
